Herewini Wakarua Sergeant Major (Warrant Officer Class 2) he travelled with the very first Contingent to Gallipoli and then was evacuated to France he was injured on the 3rd of January while fighting the french front but died 10 days later on the 13th of January 1918 ...son of Reverend Te Iwiora Tamaiparea of Waitotara....Herewini's father continued the fight in June of the same year in respect of his son and he travelled on the 3oth Contingent ....When the war ceased... Herewini's father returned to NZ but then in 1928 he also passed away and was buried in the cemetery at Ihupuku Marae . THE END
