Inept Reviews: Hard Drivin' (Stella Fuelled Re-run)

Previously on Inept Reviews: Your intrepid and mumbling reviewer braved the hellish driving experience that is 'Hard Drivin'. Struggling to steer the car and keep it on the road for more than 2 seconds at a time, he quipped 'this is probably the only game you can play better when pissed'. So after a night down 'The Fountain' Public House, he gave it another shot. The results were staggering.

Apologies for the non-stop tirade of obscenities but I do tend to swear more than usual when I've had a few. I did plan to do a few more reviews whilst under the influence but right after making this movie I fell asleep at the computer and awoke a couple of hours later with a tiny bit of dry drool on my chin. Lovely.

A nice game like this was Test Drive or Lombard RAC Rally but that is PC and not in Spectrum I guess

Test Drive 2 was one of the first games I ever played on the PC. When I got that, I was hooked on PC gaming and started to abandon the Speccy. Even though it's a load of crap! Lombard RAC Rally was fun too. I remember you had to answer loads of questions to raise money for equipment. Was good fun but the fog stages were a nightmare!

I think you're driving too fast on some sections, like the bridge, that's why you crash when you land. Recently played it on Midway Arcade Treasures 2 for the xbox, and even that shows the original didn't run that smoothly to begin with, so it was a waste of time converting this to the Spectrum - it was never going to cope in a million years.
