http://www.appellate-brief.com Civil Rights Attorney Susan Chana Lask and her client Albert Florence tell their story about the6 year saga of the prison strip search case where Ms. Lask was the first attorney to win for him and tens of thousands of people in NJ's Federal Court a decision that it is unconstitutional to blanket strip search non-criminal arrestees at the processing stage before they even see a magistrate without reasonable suspicion first articulated.
The prisons appealed to the Third Circuit that reversed, claiming jailors have full authority to do what they think best in Jails. Ms. Lask's position is that our constitutional rights don't stop at the prison doors and the Courts owe us a duty to protect our constitutional rights no matter where we are, so she took it to the U.S. Supreme Court for an answer and they agreed to hear her case.
