  • If Hannan gave this speach from space, the same number of people would hear him.

  • @happyfred3 It does matter that manufacturing has declined, if it didn't someone should have told China about it.

  • @MrGilles1990 Would you like a list of companies and industries the government was keeping afloat at great expense? What does it matter that manufacturing has declined if it wasnt making profit enough to survive on its own?

Sure investment is a good idea, but you dont put your money on an ailing donkey when there are young foals ready to come out of the stables. It's all about grass roots and entrepreneurship.

  • @happyfred3 Well that was the coal industry, not the manufacturing industry as a whole.

We campaigned to remain in the EU and she does not favour independence, she is therefore pro-EU. Whether statesmen are dead or living is an irrelevancy in history.

  • @happyfred3 Correct!

  • @MrGilles1990 Sir, Margaret Thatcher was neither a Europhile or Phobe, she was rather apathetic towards it, she agreed to some things and rejected others, she got us the rebate and kept the pound but she signed a few treaties, she's hardly some evil Euro-loving villain.

As to the coal industry, the miners were their own undoing, i come from a mining family and my predecessors said it themselves, they went on strike for too long over something that they had no hope of saving.

  • @MrGilles1990 you are off topic, I was talking about LIVING people, that was the point of my post, you came along and started talking about dead people, this is therefore nothing to do with my post, i care not for what you have to say about the deceased great though they may be. Had I wished to make a comment about those who had passed on I would have done so, as it happens I do not.

    Good day sir ;)

  • @CAMERONisaEUROPHILE It's not a left wing myth, it's an industrial fact. Plus she was a europhile. Britain rose to be the richest country in the world BECAUSE of it's manufacturing sector! NOT THE BANKERS, she tore the manufacturing sector apart because she wanted a quick shot of growth that the banking sector provided. In my opinion she is guilty of treason and of destroying Britain's economic powerhouse.

  • @CAMERONisaEUROPHILE It's not a myth, it's a fact. Where is our coal industry? Where are our factories?

Do you think the miners were having a laugh? This is much more serious than a left-right Punch and Judy puppet show.

  • @MrGilles1990 "she destroyed the British manufacturing sector",thats a left wing myth.
