The American Pledge of Allegiance goes against all religions EXCEPT Christianity. In order to be an American- you HAVE to live under 1 God. That's why America is one of the worst countries when it comes down to Racism and ridicule. if you're not Christian then the Pledge of Alliance says you cannot be allowed to be an American. The British Pledge of Allegiance is MUCH more anti-racist and praises the Queen, but the American version doesn't praise the President, does it?

I never stood up during the pleadge of allegiance in school or anywhere else. Fuck that! You honestly think im going to pledge allegiance to the most horrible, corrupt, evil country ever!? Hell no. Fuck america. I'll pledge allegiance to this shit hole when pigs fly. *spits on stomps on american flag*

i think people take allegiance way to lightly. you bind yourself to whatever you pledge allegiance to. and in esscence subjugate yourself. maybe its just me but i feel (human race being way past fuedalism) that nobody should feel like they are forced into allegiance.
If anybody remembers public school how we were expected to (or face punishment) say this pledge just because it is tradition without at all understanding what we were saying....

Take our asses back to school. This was a no brainer when I was in elementary in the early 80's. You hang your bag, jacket or put your lunch in your cubby. Go to your desk, right hand over your heart, face the USA flag, and say the Pledge of Allegiance with your teacher and classmates.
Now why was that 45 second addition to the agenda a matter of such contention to the moderator? Wouldn't it have been much simpler to just say, "Why yes. Although it wasn't on our agenda I see no problem with a quick recitation of the Pledge." Done, no big prickly fight about it.

You know, I don't think I've ever been quite as proud of my countrymen as I have been over the last two years as we've stood together to take back this great nation.
These people are obviously part of those that have made me proud.
