Well well, Marillion on the telly, that hasn't happened for a good few years now!
These vids are from a late night program called Rock Steady recorded by a friend of mine in 1990. It features some tracks from their Seasons End tour recorded at the De Montfort hall in leicester.
Hope you enjoy them.

  • No, the pane does nothing but catch the lights, it's all in the gloves! They're fitted with sensors at the end of the fingers which generate MIDI notes to control a synth / sampler. He uses a modified cricket bat these days for the same thing.

  • Didn't come from there, but i believe the full concert is now included on the dvd. go to marillion dot com to buy it & support this fantastic band.

  • my asshole of a father is controlling the lead guitarists light. I was there too. brill song brill band

  • Got to see this in London at Wembley in July '90 -- was on my way to the box office to buy a ticket when a man came up and asked me if I had a ticket already. I thought he was scalping them, but instead he just handed me one and said, "Enjoy the show."

  • I was there in the royal court!! that's why I searched this vid!! wow!!

  • This reminds me, wasn't there a similar show to this called "Cue the Music" or something? It was a real wierd show Tony Slattery used to co-host and went out at 3am or some odd time in the morning?

    Anyone else remember it?

  • The gloves are very well one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Thanks a ton for the post, Hybridalienbob!
