I picked up a few more items for my bugout, bob, shtf, survival, get out of dodge, wrol, zombie apocalypse, I'm hungry and I want some spaceman icecream bag. Thanks for all the suggestions and please keep them comming! My bag is a work in progress and my main goal for the bag is answering the question; "If I can put anything I want in this bag, up to 40lbs total, what do I bring?". Then the question might be expanded to 50lbs later. It's interesting to me to note that if we're limited to what we can carry, (which we are) a value can be assigned to objects, food, ect based on thier weight. Once the items are chosen for the bag and the weight reached, then they can be re-evaluated to see if the best choices were made, or if there may be something better!

As an aside, I don't think I'll ever actually need to use this bag for it's intended purpose, I just find it fun to challenge my brain, with the added bonus that if I ever actually DO have to use it, I'm all set! There's other benefits of a B.O.B. too though, and I'll discuss some of them in another video.

Thanks for watching!

  • silver can also be used in the production of homemade anti-biotics. just an fyi

  • @A7X211 Yes, I've actually read about that. It's intriging that's for sure.

  • I think it'd be fun just to go camping or something out in the woods with just your bag to test it out. After a week or so you'll know how well it works, and you'd have a better idea about what would be worth adding, and maybe what you could live without.

  • @beanerbate Yes, good point. It's always best to test your gear.

  • I'd keep in mind that those zip ties aren't very good for handcuffing. If you really need to handcuff someone, I wouldn't trust standard zip ties. I keep two heavy duty thick ziptie handcuffs on my shotgun. They're kind of expensive but they are light and will do the job right if you ever need them. If you google "handcuff zipties" you'll see what I'm talking about.

  • @850pcolafirefighter Yeah, I know what you mean but they may not look it in the video, but these are really heavy duty. They're many times stronger than standard zip ties. I've got 10 of them so I could always double up if needed. What's nice about these and the length I chose, is that you could use them to secure the main supports on a shelter. I couldn't break out of one of these and I bench press over 300lbs. I could always back it up with paracord or duct tape if I was concerned.
