Falcon Coloring Speed Process

A quick walkthrough on how I colored the Falcon piece on a recent stream. You can tell what I'm doing even though it's fast. If you have a question, ask away, and I'll reply with an additional annotation to your question.

ok so when you highlighted to highlight how did you get it that when you used the brush it ever exited the characters lines even when the selection was past the lines

@ijones81 It's actually a layer constraint. It's masked to the layer underneath (which is flat red). You create a layer, which will be on top of the layer you want to stick to. Hold Alt between the layers (the one's you want to connect) and the top layer will point to the layer underneath. Then, start to color on the top layer, you'll see that your colors won't go past what the layer underneath is. You can group mask multiple layers to one layer. That's mainly what I did thruout the whole thing.

oh ok so you use ginat sof brushes to highlight?

@Coatl360 Yes, I select a section where I plan to highlight with the lasso tool and use a soft brush with about 25% of flow and basically paint the highlights that way.

yo dude did u use the lasso tool around all your lines to get everything red at the beginning or is there some option you can use to do that, everything was going by so quickly i couldn't tell...

I have troubles choosing the right colors sometimes and you seemed to get exactly what you needed without post-processing. I didn't even witness you pull up the color picker during shading.
