I like the whole art of weaving. The old world was so smart and so advanced that things haven't changed much. Thanks for the videos because they help alot.

Can anyone tell me where I can find a class for loom weaving in los Angeles?

@SuperNudos I'm on the East Coast, but try Googling the Southern California Handweavers Guild, which is probably a great place to start. You can contact a member of the Guild and ask them for suggestions on places to take classes; it even looks like they offer some workshops a few times a year! Let us know how it goes!

@stefannhika: That is totally dependent on lots of factors, including what type of loom you are using, how thick or thin your warp and weft threads are, weaving pattern, your experience level, and of course if you have any issues to troubleshoot (the latter being inevitable and a big time eater). But, generally, if you have a thick warp and weft, and you are using a simple pattern like plain weave or twill it will work up faster.

Thanks for all the positive comments!!!
Unfortunately, I am not currently weaving - I took all the Fibers classes I could possibly take at my school, so I don't get access to the studio anymore. :(
Since I'm about to graduate college, it really isn't feasible for me to have a floor loom (and I have yet to find a table loom that can hold it's tension).
My current projects include: sewing (everything, always), drawing in my journal, brewing Kombucha, and cleaning cat hair off my sofa.

In my fibers class we start from the reed and go to the back. Its interesting to see it done from the back side.

I have heard that dressing the loom from the front is a possibility, but I have never seen anyone do it that way. I imagine it is easier to keep the warp in order??
