Here it is: the sister video of 'The Seduction of Jane Eyre'. Now I don't want you all to get too excited; you shouldn't be expecting a sudden desire to take a short sharp cold shower, but let's just say it takes a look at that sizzling sexually charged situation from the other side of the fence with some of the more emotional motivations and concerns. Having "completely ruined who Jane is" in the first video and had a grand old time doing so, roll on ruining Rochester ;)

Disclaimer: I do not own or claim to own any of the material used in making this video. All the footage is the property of the BBC and the music is 'Into Temptation' as performed by Crowded House. My only input was how the material has been editted in this particular instance.

  • What movie is this??? It sparked my interest when I was watching something about North & South.

  • It's the BBC's most recent adaptation of Jane Eyre :)

  • I cannot say enough about Toby Stephens. He is absolutely the finest Rochester yet. He is by far too good looking to be Rochester because in the book the man is a brooding not to attractive man, but Toby is sooo good it makes no difference what Bronte had him pictured as. I have watched both videos and watch the DVD of Jane Eyre constantly it is that good. BBC know how to do great adaptation with great actors and directors.

This man is super sexy and Ruth Wilson is a gem of an actress.

  • eww no! I dont think that Ciaran Hinds would be a good Rochester! Toby Stephens will ALWAYS be my Rochester. I LOVE him! Why can't more guys be like him!!!

  • Oh. My. God. Toby Stephens is GORGEOUS!! :) perfect Rochester! x

  • @louisanna30

I TOTALLY AGREE TIMOTHY IS THE BEST ROCHESTER THAT HAS EVER BEEN BUT DONT YOU THINK JOAQUIN PHOENIX WOULD BE JUST AS GOOD AT THIS ROLE.THEY BOTH SHARE A GREAT TALENT AND THEIR ACTING IS SO PASSIONATE THEY GIVE FLESH AND BLOOD TO THE ROLES THEY PERFORM

  • Edward Rochester may be described as bordering on ugly in the book, but his portrayal is SEXY as hell. And so, even though he isn't exactly handsome, he is indeed very attractive and seductive.

When they make an adaptation they have to make R sexy, only usually the sexy actors are also good looking... :D

The only "fault" I find in Stephens is that he isn't "big" enough. R's supposed to be very large, tall and broad-shouldered. Especially comapred to Jane.

Other than that he's totally perfect.

  • He was sooooooooo good but I am partial to Timothy Dalton. Sorry he will always be the Rochester for me.

  • I really don't think that Mr.Rochester in the book isn't really attractive. It seems to be a matter of the opinion of the characters and how they view themselves rather than how others perceive them. They seem to humble to admit that something could be pleasing about themselves aesthetically. The book is mainly about the characters and their interactions with one another. So please focus on that rather than "ohh shes to pretty and he's to handsome." It's not the point, the point is love.

  • In the novel, Rochester is charming, manly and sexy in his own ways but he's not supposed to be sooo damn GOOD LOOKING!!! But hey, no complaints here! Toby really did an excellent job portraying Mr. Rochester; I am even more in luv w/ Edward Rochester now!!! LOL

  • I'm really impressed with both this video and the "seduction" (needed a cold shower after that one),too.I love this version of JE,wonderful actors both of them, the bedroom scene kind of ruined it for me a little, but your videos sort of gave me a new perspective on things.

  • loveee this vid and the film:D

  • You've hit on an interesting idea. They should make a version of Jane Eyre from Rochester's p.o.v. Combine Wide Sargasso Sea and Jane Eyre. That would be interesting. I don't see Ellen Page as Jane Eyre either. She's too cutesy. I'm really like to know who's playing Rochester!
