  • Pathetic? Just imagine your loved one had been killed in a car accident... This gesture was one of the most touching Tv-scenes I've ever seen. And I am very thankful for it. Steiner dedicated his medal to his dead wife that was really touching. Someone who calls that pathetic surely does not know what it means to lose a beloved person.

  • i think this is one of the biggest moments in olympics ever!

  • one of the greatest moments in sport

  • @reklamedame

That happened to me as well. A month before my big strongman show where I won my pro card, the love of my life, my sweet Olivia was killed in a car accident. Having her in my heart gave me the strength to keep moving forward and win my pro card. This video makes me cry every time.

  • Yes, his recovery ability is so amazing that he was able to start boning replacement chicks the same day his wife died. Isn't he engaged to some bigshot German television journalist? What a touching love story.

    Badass weightlifter, though.

  • amazing video! had the chance to meet him this summer and he is an awesome guy too. My brother told me about his story and it just amazing how within months he managed to recover and go and win an olympic gold. He is definitely one of those people that is an amazing example of a person..what a feat

  • da stimme ich dir vollkommen zu! hab selbst schon freunde verloren, ist echt schlimm sowas...

  • and? did you see him? greets!

  • Westlife oO It's in the box ...

  • Ahhh. Help me. I keep watching a video with a Westlife song playing in it! What's wrong with me?

But seriously, this was awesome. Best sporting moment I've ever seen. And I love the way the video switches to colour just at the moment when he drops the bar and starts to celebrate.
