I think it's all a question of reputation. Like uwieric said, it was her first Worlds and judges didn't know her. So, they were "cautious", not putting her in the first places with a great performance like that. I think it was unfair, but we see it so often in figure skating...

It's more than just jumps, with everyone skating so well it was nitpicking.

Politics probably. She was a first time skater at Worlds, and the judges don't know her. In 2001 when she skated a similar clean SP, they put her in 3rd place.
