My Roomba 560 will not dock. it correctly detects the docking station and tries to dock, but does not seem to detect that it is connected. I have swapped docking station with a frind having the same robot, and verified that it is not the dock, but the robot itself that does not work correctly. Anyone that have seen this before and know what could be wrong?

  • is it the wood floor?

  • I actually tracked this down to be a damaged external charging connector. I have posted some more details on finding this fault and fixing it on my website in case anyone are interested :)

  • Hmm.. dont seem like it is possible posting links here. You can find the information on hobbymechatronics(dot)com, article "debugging and repairing the roomba"

  • Hi and thanks for the tip. I have tried all of this, without luck. Plugging the charger directly to the roomba charges the battery as it should. There seem to be an issue inside the Roomba itself. I have now dissected the Roomba and are trying to debug the main board. A bit frustrating, but kinda fun as well :D

Alltid fint å få tips, selv om de er "basic" og har vært prøvd allerede :) Så takk for tipsene

  • @TheHopperkid Its Down Syndrome

  • i think you got a down sindrom robot.....

  • om nom nom nom

  • I got a new roomba 560 too and had the same problem. For now it seems to be fixed by having the docking bay in a wider area so roomba can approach routine starts from a longer distance. Seems to be running fine now.

    Hope it helps

  • What a RetardA!

  • well ask the irobot tech support if you take it appart they probly wont fix it

  • i think that you should take to an electronic sotre and dont take advice from IDIOTS ONLINE!

  • I have exactly the same problem with my Roomba 530. Thanks for your post. I'll try to follow your instruction to see if it works with mine, although I am a bit hesitated to take all these little parts apart by myself...
