I got a new roomba 560 too and had the same problem. For now it seems to be fixed by having the docking bay in a wider area so roomba can approach routine starts from a longer distance. Seems to be running fine now.
Hope it helps

I have exactly the same problem with my Roomba 530. Thanks for your post. I'll try to follow your instruction to see if it works with mine, although I am a bit hesitated to take all these little parts apart by myself...

I actually tracked this down to be a damaged external charging connector. I have posted some more details on finding this fault and fixing it on my website in case anyone are interested :)

Hmm.. dont seem like it is possible posting links here. You can find the information on hobbymechatronics(dot)com, article "debugging and repairing the roomba"

Hi and thanks for the tip. I have tried all of this, without luck. Plugging the charger directly to the roomba charges the battery as it should. There seem to be an issue inside the Roomba itself. I have now dissected the Roomba and are trying to debug the main board. A bit frustrating, but kinda fun as well :D
Alltid fint å få tips, selv om de er "basic" og har vært prøvd allerede :) Så takk for tipsene
