@hibob418 There really isn't anything more that can be said about that is there? Adm. Stockdale was a man apart, he had no peer on that stage nor anywhere else in politics. Of course a man like that is going to be laughed at by a society of mindless jackals who prefer to be ruled by one of their own.

This man in amazing. In vietnam he was captured after his plane was shot down. Then angry villagers shattered his leg. They put him in prison and beat him for years. When he learned that they wanted to parade him for propaganda purposes, he cut his scalp and beat his face with a chair so that his face would be too bad to be on TV. And when he learned that other prisioners were mistreated he slit his wrists to protest. They destroyed his eardrums in prison too (thats why he needs a hearing aide.)

No disrespect is meant to Admiral Stockdale. The poor guy didn't even know he'd actually have to debate until very late in the game. Befuddled or not, he still came across much more genuine than Quayle or Gore.
