@TheCFarmy canada had a standing military of over 1 million at the end of 1945... im sure we could expand again if a new threat arose... but short of a giant nazi empire to do battle with, its fucking stupid to spend that much money on our military, look at the USA, they spend 900+ billion a year fighting against cavemen equivalents, and eventually its going to lead to financial collapse
