Professor of Linguistics and political activist Noam Chomsky is presented with the 2011 Sydney Peace Prize at a gala dinner held in his honour at Sydney University on November 3, 2011. The peace prize is presented to Chomsky by Aboriginal leader and former peace prize recipient Patrick Dodson.

@sgpquek Yes that is correct and doesn't really have anything to do with Chomsky getting this prize. The decision to install a military base was made by the government of Australia. This award is given by the University of Sydney, which does not necessarily represent the views and opinions of the government.

Rather than hoping that Chomsky will live for another 100 years (not that I would mind him to do so) we should all make an effort to reach his standards.
