Preview trailer for Evochron Mercenary, the sequel to Evochron Legends. In Evochron, a player is free to seek their fortune as an independent mercenary in an adventure directed by their choices, abilities, and accomplishments. Each player can bring their unique skills and interests to the game, forming clans for cooperative goals or remaining solo to complete objectives on their own in true freeform space-sim gameplay. As you pilot your spacecraft through a vast seamless universe, you can perform many activities including buying, trading, negotiating, bribing, spying, racing, escorting, transporting, mining, exploring, cleaning equipment, clearing paths through asteroid fields, recruiting, protecting, hiring crew members, fuel harvesting, building stations to expand the game's universe, and designing/selling ships.

Do the Evochron series support all flightsticks? I downloaded the demo, and it seemed to have trouble configuring to the Saitek x52 pro. I didn't even attempt to try the rudder pedals since it seems very few games support them.

@Keihryon Yes, it supports the X52, actually designed with it in mind as my development system uses an X52. But you'll need to follow the instructions on mapping the controls (axis and buttons). The game also supports the rudder pedals, including any other gaming devices up to 10 simultaneously. Use the arrow keys at the top of the Configure Controls menu to switch devices while mapping controls.

I rarely buy games for the full price on Steam, but in this case I just had to. There are too few good space-action games anyway, and this ist just the perfect mix of Freelancer and Starfox 64 :D

I bought this game awhile back and had some fun playing it. I think i'll return to this game later this year, but I have an exploration question:

Are there no boundaries when exploring space? I always jumped through the gates, going from sector to sector, but is it possible to simply fly beyond the borders of the map and find new stuff like that?

This is one of my favorite games ever made. The ship customization is a dream come true and the planetary transitions are a cool touch that should now be standard in this genre. If there's a sequel, I hope you can build and fly bigger ships, like transports and battlecruisers.

for those who have troubles with the physics with this game, know that space is real and that physics of this game is the only game i have encountered that actually use real space physics, my second point is that u have two setting in your ship in space, i.d.s and inertial which means that if u travel at a certain velocity you will remain in that velocity unless a force is applied to ur ship , to toggle ids and inertial press space bar!
