This upload is not really for me, it is for the many fans of Elman who may not have heard this, personally I don't understand what all the hype is about Elman, I would rather hear Perlman or Oistrakh or even Kreisler (to name a few) ...but this is your chance to hear the legendary tone of Elman...

I have uploaded rare out of print and unreleased recordings that are difficult to find, I hope you like them.

Since they are so difficult to find no one should mind me uploading them, if you have issues with me uploading them please send me a message and I will remove them.

  • Thank you!

    Wonderfull!

But if you do not care for Elman, why did you go through the trouble to find these recordings?

  • i bumped into this cd at the library about 8 years ago and ripped it to cd

a few years later i found out how many fans there still are of his playing and i thought they would like to hear this since it is not so easy to find, everything i upload is rare or out of print and my hope is that violin scholars and lovers use this as a resource for years to come

    peace and blessings from ohio

  • and thank you for this upload...Elman, for a violinist, is unique, the violin is sound...and what people don't 'get' is that Elman makes the violin sound like a violin...yes there are faster, more brilliant...but, Elman can break your heart...and THIS is music....:-)

  • so beautiful!1!!!

  • Do believe this is Op. 9 and not 42. Cheers!

  • A la trompette c'est joli aussi.

  • thank you so much. i have ben searching for mscha's version of this song and i didn't even know what it was called. chopin's nocturne. man i love this- thank you.

  • I have this sheet music and I guess for the day this sort of "piece" was the rage. I honestly like it better played without the "additions" and I cut them. The thing to remember about Elman is he did have some obstacles to overcome with his playing in terms of his physical stature. He did have a great number of positives and many identified with his artistic choices and he did sell records--he kind of had that Vaudeville thing mixed in with some of his pieces. It was a show stopper then.
