@iwantwatermellon thank you, at least your rational, something a lot of people lack

less harmful then alcohol!!! ive seen what booze will do to a person and its not pretty. weed dosent have even close to those effects. the worst ive seen happen with weed is a person become a daily smoker and loose their ambition. booze can give you wet brain and kill if someone becomes a daily user. more on topic is that the marijuana laws were created because of racist sentiments and racist ppl played on these feelings in 1930's america.

I am against weed for my own personal reasons, but people should be allowed to grow whatever they want on their property. Maybe not their front yards where kids could reach it, but the right should be there.

news from other countries seems way better than "american" news. Not just because it's more neutral since they're not involved in the whole "republican vs. democrat" bs, but also just seems like they're less concerned about political correctness and trying to be as bland as possible

history in the making? The peoples will? Fuck it!

i find it sooo ridiculous.why dont they just look at the death rates. there has never been a documented case of someone dying/ODing off pot.NEVER! yet alcohol and tobacco have hundreds of thousands of deaths a year. just comparing the BIG 3 substances that should be enough for you to think about why pot is illegal..BCbud swed 42o

@iamorri3 Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. And I feel like when I'm a parent I would let my kids smoke at 16 just responsibly but I still don't think the actually law should be 16. I think it should be up to the parents even though some "grown ups" out there think weed is the devil and shit but if the parents disagree and the law doesn't it will just bring a whole lot of issues, not that there aren't so many now. It would just make more sense for it to be 18 when theyre legally an adult

@ab211125 I feel that the laws should be 16, then the parents could teach the merits of responsible smoking. Kind of like in some parts of europe where there is much less of an issue with binge drinking because kids are taught about responsible drinking at an earlier age.
-
@iamorri3 Huh, I didn't know that. But are you saying that they should pass the law for 16 and older or are you just informing people of the research that has been done?
-
@ab211125 Legislation rarely lines up with research but research on how it affects the developing brain, using rats, showed that rats who had been exposed earlier in life (before the equivalent of 16) had some coordination problems and took longer to learn a maze and did not remember the maze as well as control rats. When the rats that are the equivalent of 16 or older were exposed there was no effect on the memory or muscle coordination, showing that there is no effect on people 16+.
Weed isn't the 5 o'clock cocktail, it's the 4:20 cocktail :)
