The Autopia, one of the premire attractions at Tomorrowland, opened shortly after Submarine Voyage in I believe 1959. It was one of the three, with two being extinct. The first one was the Tomorrowland Autopia. The next was the Midget Autopia, which would become the Fantasyland Autopia and merge with the Tomorrowland one. The last was the Junior Autopia, which was shipped off to Walt Disney's home town of Marceliene in Missouri. After a couple of years, that was finally removed and one car salvaged for display on the main Autopia. This current Autopia, along with the dormant PeopleMover tracks and monorail support, aside from the new version, is what is keeping the remnants of the Submarine Voyage alive. Different versions exist In Florida all the way to Hong Kong, under different names.

This is a VisionsFantastic production. I never got a video of the Autopia.

  • I was scared of this ride. I had to ride alone and this was before I had any experience of driving. The last time I was on this ride, I crashed the car in front of me.

  • Don't worry, that happens a lot. This was meant to teach kids how to drive safely.

  • ermm well as a little kid i always wanted to ride it, but when i see this video i notice that i dont have missed anything

  • Alright, that might be your opinion, but consider this: this attraction has been around since 1959, so it has to be doing something right.

  • yea i remember riding that when i was ten. i couldn't reach the pedal and some guy kept rear ending me. When the ride ended all the workers wonder where all the cars were.

  • How do you crash into a tree if they already have the tracks so you can't crash into anything?

  • just curious is there any way to tell where the two autopia's merge?

  • How did I get this video by searching for midgets on a monorail

  • FigmentsFan: It actually opened in 1955. I was reading that autopia is the only ride still there since 1955.

  • I love this ride, don't get me wrong, but they need to redo the cars. Maybe make them a little faster. Maybe they could even do a "GPS" system where Mickey and the car's character chat with the driver. Not necessarily 100% interactive, but, like the car and Mickey get into an argument over where they're going, if you get hit in the back bumper, Mickey could send Goofy to tell the car in the back to cool it, or if you hit someone, Goofy appears on screen to discuss "safety" or something.

  • Love your Video of Autopia in the Day time.I always ride this at night.Next time Im riding it in the day.Cant waite for cars land .I wonder if there gona be on a track.

  • i didnt like this ride i went here yesterday :[ u have a rail so u couldnt pass poeple and its so hard to step on the gas and turn

  • Autopia opened in 1955 on opening day where there was no guide rails then. Along with the phantom boats

  • i always give my parents wiplash when i drive...

  • I remember when I went on this ride with my friend she was driving and I was the passenger, so she floored it and got so upset that it went only 6 or 7 miles an hour.
