@Missy79271 Agreed.

To Loughrey 101, this is Joe Dolan's youtube site not Elvis'es. Go leave your comment on Elvis'es youtube site, as it look's like you are not a fan of Joe's but Elvis'es. Joe had his own style and grace and had nothing to do with Elvis.

@TheSunshine3661 Apart from Elvis of course. ;-)

@ModWarfareKilla and the observation that these days they'd be called homos is very true I know my home area if gangs of lads hung around doing anything or nothing without a girl in sight they would be called homos or faggits all sorts of obsanaties.it is no insult to the homosexual population.its a known fact bullys dont use nice and pc ways of saying things.so to say thats what a very different society of today would call them is a fair observation i feel.

@ModWarfareKilla I grew up in a house where my brothers friends spent more time in our house drinking tea and listening to music than they spent at home(or at school for that matter)...As a younger child did it matter to me if they were in the IRA, the dole office or working in the corner shop sure i didn't give a shite one our house was full of hussle and bussle and fun I genuinely think you completely missed the point and intention behind his comment....
-
@ModWarfareKilla he was simply sharing a memory...we can paper over everything and pretend the troubles never happened or get all politically correct about them but I feel this comment actually reminds us that behind the headlines there are real people who grew up stuck in the middle of it whether they liked it or lumped it and the fact that they carried on through in spite of difficult times and still managed to bring some sense of family to their lives is a credit to them....

Pure gold. There will never be anyone like him again. The voice, the ultimate entertainer,and the charisma.....you just dont get that all rolled in to one person-except for Joe that is.

Ah the memories, what a truly wonderful record.
This will always take me back to growing up in Belfast. My brother, a very wild young man in his day, was a member of the local republican movement.
His cronies would come to the house for their weekly "cupán tae" and inevitably once a few "cupáns" were downed they'd play a Joe Dolan record or two.
There were many long time bachelors in the IRA back then.
Nowdays I'd suppose we'd reckon they were homos.
