First. Don't presume to tell me to "pay attention" or to "Know what I'm talking about." I can extrapolate for myself what the video is teaching people how to do.
When QVC sells radar detectors, they don't say, "Here's a device that will enable you to disregard Federally-mandated, State-enforced public safety ordinances"; they say, "Here's a device that will allow you to check your speedometer to see that you're 'still' in compliance."
These days, free stuff would be a needle in a haystack, so the application demonstrated in the video was a very good example.
However, most people use the C.L. autoresponder in direct contravention of the binding disclaimer attached to every C.L. posting "it's NOT okay to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests." The autoresponder's promoters say to use a Gmail account because the I.P. Address is untraceable.
I'm a guitar teacher as well a bass and piano and when I get an emal forwarded from my C.L. ad, it's only supposed to be from somebody in my local community seeking to hire me to teach themselves or their kids music theory. I'm deeply offended and disappointed when the subject of an email is my C.L. posting title but the ad is from arrogant marketing affiliate for Google Payday or Vista Print Business Cards.
I defrauded both companies using prepaid NetSpend debit cards, for spamming my C.L. ad.
with Vista Print, I took the 250 "free" biz cards by cancelling the N.S. card after only the S&H had been deducted. When the rep. called he said I was in arrears. I told him that I "understood" to only be paying the S&H for 250 cards and he said I needed to read the contract into which I'd entered, wherein I acknowledged that I was to purchase a total of 1,000 cards for $89. I told him that they needed to read the binding disclaimer on my C.L. ad.
With Google Payday, I used the replacement NetSpend to pay the $1.99 for the Google Biz Kit and canceled the NetSpend outright. When Google called to say I owed some $62 I again feigned ignorance and claimed I thought it was really just two bucks. Again more reminder of "fine print" and the payoff: telling them that I only want responses to my Craigslist to be from local students or their financially responsible guardians.
They claimed that C.L. is an open market and that the disclaimer is not binding. The disclaimer is binding because C.L.'s administrators and its legitimate users say it is and because C.L. is supposed to be a virtual "yard sale", a community of local buyers and sellers and service providers, such as wedding planers, small-task contractors and tutors.

When QVC sells radar detectors, they don't say, "Here's a way to drive irresponsibly and undermine the law.", because it could get them in at least civil trouble if not legal.
What QVC defines as the purpose for radar detectors is "When you hear this device beep, you can make sure you're 'still' going the speed limit."
Hi, I recently discovered a similar service. It sends replies to CL posts on your behalf. It's name is respond2craigslist. It is a free service, and it offers some additional functionality, too.

The C.L. autoresponder has more legitimate use than a radar detector, like to find free stuff like firewoood.

The autoresponder is being used to reply to C.L. ads with content that has nothing to do with the ads to which they're responding.
