Good version with a real period flavour. The Tango Two (in fox-trot mode) cannot keep up with the pace set by the band and need a helping hand. Vocal chorus by Jay Whidden. Recorded 25th June 1926.
I was brought up with first hand memories of the 1920's bands. The sound is close to my heart for sentimental reasons; tales of 'listening in' to the Savoy Bands, talking about Somers, Hylton and - Jay Whidden. One of my most HIGHLY regarded bands. What a 5 star upload, no hesitation.
Hard to get much better than dis?....

Great piece of period nostalgia.Sounds much better on 78 than on my mellotone CD.A nice warm sound, very jaunty and it's why the 20s roared
