Good version with a real period flavour. The Tango Two (in fox-trot mode) cannot keep up with the pace set by the band and need a helping hand.
Vocal chorus by Jay Whidden. Recorded 25th June 1926.

  • Hard to get much better than dis?....

  • Used a harpist with essemble round 1926,

  • Great piece of period nostalgia.Sounds much better on 78 than on my mellotone CD.A nice warm sound, very jaunty and it's why the 20s roared

  • I was brought up with first hand memories of the 1920's bands. The sound is close to my heart for sentimental reasons; tales of 'listening in' to the Savoy Bands, talking about Somers, Hylton and - Jay Whidden. One of my most HIGHLY regarded bands. What a 5 star upload, no hesitation.
