Artificial nose
This project comes from the extensive studies conducted by the Biological Neurocomputation Group (GNB) in 'La Autónoma' University of Madrid. It is part of OLFACTOSENSE consortium of the Excellence Network in the community of Madrid.
First prototypes and results obtained with olfactory platforms focused on investigation have a promising commercial orientation and it is arousing several institutions interest.
Applications
At present we are working on a wide range of applications related to:
- Agri-food (products quality control, production management help, expired food detection, ...).
- Public safety and combating terrorism (drugs, explosives, banned and harmful substances detection, security arcs at airports and stations, perfume anticopy systems, survivors search in disasters, ...).
- Environment (dumps control, wastewater, environmental quality, ...).
- Health in inhabited environments (air quality in offices, classrooms, public schools, ...).
- Health centers (infections detection, anosmia studies, cancer screening tables, blood or biogenic fluids tests, endocrine system diseases, ...).
- Entertainment industry (science museums, technological gadgets, gaming industry, recreational facilities, ...).
- Robotics (mobile and industrial).
