anchorman humor. WABC's earliest EWN wasn't
as much "happy news" as "droll news", and way
more entertaining and communicative than
anything in today's info-tainment news world.

@noahf67 Incidentally Roger Grimsby complained to KGO management that he didn't want the Happy Talk Format before he was sent to WABC to do a newscast he really did not want to do. and right when Van Amburg took his SF seat.

Who Did Roger Gimsby Replace on WABC in NY when Roger KGO anchor position was taken over by VanAmburg and Jerry Jensen.

I wonder what Roger would've thought of his former colleague Ernie Anastos' "Keep fucking that chicken" goof up on Fox 5? He'd probably come up with a witty response to it much like he did when Mara Wolensky flipped off the one person on camera.
