@N10ZT it's 3 years here in Australia, and in the fourth year you go into a graduate program (1 year) where you get to work/practice in your area of interest, such as paeds for a number of months - usually 3 months within that year before you can move into another area of practice. It's meant to ease you into the workplace has a new grad.

How long does it take to become a registered nurse in Australia?
In our country, its 4 years of continuous study (academic + clinical). Nursing degree earned here is called Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Recently, an additional year was added, making a BScN here - 5 years.
No nurse who studied less than 4 years/ who did not study in a classroom or clinical setting can practice here.
Hi thanks for taking the time to comment on our above film Nurse 1.1. It is very obvious to me that you have not watched the entire film. Nurse Practioners are not doctors, they are nurse practitioners. I am unsure why you are saying they are dumb given they have at least a three year degree and a masters degree.

I think NP's contribute enormously to the health care, of course some doctors will feel they ll lose jobs, complete stupidity, it is a different scope of practice, these professionals are highly trained, widely used in the United States and Canada.
