Couperin ( Le Grand ) composed more than 240 piéces pour clavecin, 226 of them are included in 4 Books with 27 Orders.

According to Jordi Savall, an specialist in Renaissance and Baroque music, Couperin was a musicien poet par excellance. He believed in the ability of the Music to express in " sa prose et ses vers ".
