FRANÇOIS COUPERIN ( Paris, 1668/1733 ).
" Musette de Choisy et de Taverny " : Troisième Livre de piéces de clavecin - Quinzième Ordre.
Harpsichord : Zuzana Ruzickova, Plzen / 1927 (Czech Rep.)
Couperin ( Le Grand ) composed more than 240 piéces pour clavecin, 226 of them are included in 4 Books with 27 Orders.
" J`aime beaucoup mieux ce que me touche , que ce que me surprend ". ( I much prefer to be touched than surprised ).
According to Jordi Savall, an specialist in Renaissance and Baroque music, Couperin was a musicien poet par excellance. He believed in the ability of the Music to express in " sa prose et ses vers ". He also believed that if we enter poetry of music , we would realize that she is " plus belle encore que la beauté " ( much more beautiful than beauty ).
