Red Movie Trailer (Fake)

A darker interpretation of the Red Riding Hood story.

American Mcgee has an upcoming game project called 'Red' with a similar idea, but I have no idea what the story for that will be. However the idea of taking this iconic character and tinting her story was compelling for me.

My story idea:
A young girl living in the forest of colonial America looses her mother and father in an attack on her home by persons unknown. Years later when she's grown to womanhood, she is now an outcast wandering from settlement to settlement known only as 'Red' by most because of her hood. There are threats looming in the dark woodlands. There are werewolves stalking those foolish enough to stray to far from camp, and the hunters, a crusading order devoted to destroying the wolves but in the process massacring entire households to keep their evil influence at bay. The only way to remove the threat of wolves forever is to kill the head wolf, but to do so would take a warrior of skill and courage unknown to the frightened villagers. However Red has learned a thing of two about keeping wolves at bay and killing them if she must, becoming a local legend in the process, but also a sign of ill omen since the wolves are always chasing her and her sister.
In one fateful village, Red's sister is captured by wolves, forcing her into a hunt for the head wolf himself to save her from being turned. Along the way she will fall in with the hunters themselves, and come to grips with a question which has plagued her all her life. Who was it that killed her family and burned her homestead; The wolves out for blood, or the hunters seeking to purge her family? The answer to this may decide her loyalty, and determine in whose cause she swings her axe for.

Aren't you the one who's always complaining that there are no original ideas anymore and that everything new is based on something else?

Then again, the fact remains that this is nothing like the original story (unless there's a grandma in there somewhere.) Really cool trailer.

I'd love to make something original, but I only have existing trailers, soundtracks, voice overs, and whatnot to deal with so I usually end up making trailers based on other ideas.

I have nothing against people taking old stories and revamping them, it's taking the story and doing nothing with it to expand on the characters or universe that annoys me (see Max Payne the movie).

Now, that's the kind of Little Red Riding Hood film I'd see! Have you seen Company of the Wolf or Snow White: A Tale of Terror? 'Cause if you want a dark fairy tale on film, those are true classics!
