Jake, Paulina, and Hannah Celebrate Hannah's Birthday

Paulina has just finished putting up balloons when Jake and Hannah get back from the driving lesson. Jake comes in first and tells Paulina that everything went fine once he and Hannah agreed not to drag-race any tractor-trailers. He asks where the envelope from D&M is, and Paulina says she thinks she put it in his briefcase. He's getting his briefcase when Hannah comes in and asks what this is, because she didn't want a party. The briefcase forgotten, Hannah's birthday celebration begins, with Jake telling Hannah that he and Paulina put balloons up every Thursday, and Hannah just hasn't been there long enough to notice. Hannah asks if they also have cake and ice cream every Thursday. Paulina tells her that's later; first comes presents. Hannah opens her presents, which include a pair of sunglasses, a family photo album, some CDs (from Jake), and a dress that she saw in Jacobsen's window and loved and that Paulina just had to get for her. Hannah thanks Paulina and Jake for the gifts, and tells them that she bought a photo album with the sample pictures in it when she was a kid and she used to pretend that she had a movie-star dad and a mom who would bake cookies and tuck her in at night and sisters, but this is better. After Hannah goes upstairs to try on her new dress, Paulina thanks Jake for coming through for Hannah, and for her too, and they hug. When Hannah comes back downstairs in her new dress, Jake and Paulina compliment her, and Jake has one last gift for her: one of his old camcorders, so she'll keep her grubby little paws off his new one. Then Jake puts on some music and asks if Hannah would like to dance with the handsomest man in the room. Hannah asks if Jake and Paulina got her Patrick Swayze too. Jake and Hannah dance as a beaming Paulina looks on. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
