A Roma family band from the village of Bilky (Білки)--just northeast of Irshava (Іршава), Transcarpathia, jamming at the Tyachiv City Day festival in Tyachiv/Tiachiv (Тячів) Ukraine in October 2010.
The accordionists and drummer are brothers from the Lakatos (Лакатош) family of musicians. The singer on the left is Ivan Popovych from Tyachiv, and the guitarist is Ivan Govdi from the village of Dubove. A man on the right is playing the plyonka (плёнка/плівка = "film"), a circular piece of rigid, thin plastic packaging that creates a buzzing sound when blown.

Billions of YouTube videos, this is still my favourite - and some day I will visit Tyachiv, Ukraine and Romania.
Can some one out there please identify the songs they play?

tsimbl - my very much all-time youtube favourite, displayed in HD on a big screen and a great sound system. Why not pursue your quest into a "Buena Vista Social Club" timeless epic of this vibrant euroepean culture still very much alive - who knows for how much longer? You have the tools, the means, the insight - and certainly very much the talent... and funding can be found, I'm sure... Please... This is bigger than YouTube, this should be in theaters... a two-hour movie... Please !!!!!!!!!!!!
