Hours before the interview, Giva received notice that he would return to the Bellator cage in March to fight in the Bellator Season 6 Middleweight Tournament against fellow countryman Bruno Carioca Santos (12-0-0).
Giva The Arm Collector Santana (17-1-0) recently made his Bellator Fighting Championships debut this past October and defeated Darryl Cobb by an armbar submission in the opening round of the fight. The victory was his 13 by armbar and the sixth in a row for the Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt.
Santana is one of the head jiu-jitsu instructors at Team Oyama in Irvine, California and has over 20 years of experience having grown up and trained in Brazil. Make sure to watch his fight this March on MTV2 presented by Bellator Fighting Championships (@Bellator).
Twenty-four year old Bruno "Carioca" Santos is a member of Ze Mario Team in Lauro de Freitas, Brazil and has won his past 9 fights by unanimous decision including three five round fights. With only 12 fights under his belt, Carioca has over three hours of fight-time under his belt which is unheard of in the mixed martial arts industry unless you fought Vale Tudo in 94'.
