I have a few questions:
Does it take standard size laptop 2.5" SATA hard drives?
In the memory compartment does it have 1 or 2 dimm slots?

Yes it is using a regular 2.5" SATA hard drives. There is one empty memory slots open. The base memory is 1G and you can upgrade it to 2G by adding a 1G chip. It is using the non-regular laptop memory (172 pin)
