In the remote and pristine waters of the Coral Sea, Cairns Marine director Cadel Squire hand collects with the aid of a Barrier Net, two Masked Bannerfish (Heniochus monoceros) for display in aquaria. Cairns Marine is one of only two operations permitted to collect specimens in the Coral Sea. For more information about the collection strategies and management that defines worlds best practice, see our website.

  • dude not cool let nature be

  • @FallensReef - Just curious as to how you think the fish in your favourite clips managed to materialise in those aquariums? To be a responsible aquarist is to make responsible decisions based on understanding and knowledge. You may need to do some more homework. Always insist on hand caught fish and don't patronise destructuve practices.

  • Very impressive! Great to see the environmentally-friendly collection methods that make you guys number one! This makes me even more confident in using Cairns Marine to supply my store, and I know my customers will be glad to see your sustainable methods in action, so that they know they can purchase in confidence!

  • @AquaLifeWarrnambool Thanks for the encouragement, it is really appreciated, great to hear you have enjoyed the clips, we will continue to put more up so stay tuned.

  • one day this will be completely obsolete, the day when these are tank bred in a test tube. But until then, I will gladly buy from you guys, good work

  • VERY INTERESTED in getting in a Dussumier Tang like one of the ones in this video... can you please reply via PM with what I can do to go about ordering one from you guys anlong with prices and shipping info to LAX. also would there be an extra fee to possibly get a video of his capture? =) Looking for a show sized Dussumier for my 300 gallon. Thanks!!

  • @FallensReef : ur simply a ratard if you think your dwarf angel was tank born & raised haha

  • @FallensReef LOL... are you serious...? do you know the survival rate of a juvenile bannerfish...? where do you think all of your chromis and other fish you have in your videos come from...¿ so far the only fish that are tank raised are clowns, dottybacks, some gobies and that's almost it... your dwarf angelfish is an adult and i can bet all the money in the world that it's wild caught... go bite your tongue somewhere else... kthxbye...

  • @cairnsmarine i know but just saying if you are going to interfere with nature atleast take a baby not a fish that lived his/her whole life in the ocean then go to tank its not right btw i make sure all my fish and coral are tank born and raised.
