For a long time I never found much of interest in the garden where I live and then this day I found this beetle and a ladybird larva, both on the same dock plants. It seemed they were queuing up to be on YouTube. The dark patch on the back here is the same copper colour as the rest but it reflects light differently depending on the angle.
At the end of the clip the mouthparts can be seen underneath, which I think is characteristic of leaf beetles. Weevils have a long proboscis sticking out in front.
If this isn't a leaf beetle, please let me know via the comments.
Thanks. I've subscribed to your videos. I'm going to enjoy looking through them.
