How is it disrespectful? If the story was true, how can that be disrespectful? His story was certainly more believable than the myths told about it today.

I agree. This is a great movie. Rarely is a movie able to use such a restricted set and cast, not rely on special effects and still be so interesting. Other examples that come to mind are Hitchcock's "Lifeboat" and a more recent film called "Exam".

A sci-fi movie with no special effects, no car chases, no violence, no guns, no bullshit. Just very good dialogue and a very clever story. This movie is a rare gem.
