  • "Aise" -- means "Thank You" in Khomani San. They are losing their language to English, because when they sell handicrafts to tourists, it is in English. A language becomes endangered when it loses its currency in the marketplace. Business ventures need to be created, so they can use Khomani San in it. Hopefully, now that South Africa is a multi-racial democracy, such opportunities can be created. It would be unfortunate to lose this 20,000 year old language.
