We decided to fire up world of warcraft using our alpha multitouch drivers. As you can see, the mouse emulation isn't perfect. It works great for clicking on menu items or icons, but it fails when trying to click on objects in the game or manuplite the camera. This is mainly due to the way most games handel the mouse input.

The game will hide the mouse pointer and use only the change in position of the mouse as input to move the camera. When camera movement controls are released, the mouse pointer returns to it's original position. This removes the problem of the mouse reaching the edge of the screen when moving the camera. However, for our mouse driver the mouse position is based on an absolute position on the screen, and not the change in a x y coordinate. So, when the pointer is frozen, our mouse driver tries to reset it to the absolute position on the screen. This causes the game to think the mouse is moving when in fact it is not. I believe that in the future, we could modify our mouse emulator to use multi-touch gestures to properly emulate the mouse for a game.

  • i Though about that for a long time and then desided to go on and look for it on YT and that there is sick i mean thats just the most awesome thing i have ever seen all tho it doesnt seem to be workin at a 100% at that time its still really nice.

maybe it would work on EvE-online since you really dont use the Keyboard all that much :)

  • those are some sexy ass middle aged men <3

  • well, axualy to fix it, you can go to interface > mouse > "click to move" try that... just try that.

  • Ay! who really gives a fawk if its real or not!? Just enjoy!

  • This would be awesome if you at two buttons in the side of the screen that you could move around like a mouse to move and change camera angles. Now that would seem like it eliminated the point, but the whole advantage to this is being able to directly click your abilities by touching them. that would be awesome.

  • @Monocerus he's doing both... stfu. haha.

  • so i can see how he moves a MOUSE ! FAKE!

  • seems unplayable... but it is alpha... good work

  • how did u make it?

  • oh yeah 7 comments and 1 thousands fews this was such a big hit! lol
