The [controversial] wind farm in DeKalb and Lee counties south of I 88 in IL.
Rural residents were up in arms over the selection of southern DeKalb county for the site. It was chosen due to its rural location and being near metro Chicago in addition to there being a good amount of wind. (You'll hear in the video)
So I ventured out into the wind farm after work to see how 'loud' and disruptive the farm is.
Sorry for the goofy video at times, it was quite cold which the camera did not like.
continued..... it is an annoyance, especially when we didn't choose to live with this contant feeling/noise. i understand what your local people are talking about and i feel for them.

if you are out in an open field, you will just hear some swishing noises. but, if you are in a home, front porch, by a garage which is buffering the wind, you will hear that airplane-like noise as well as a low frequency sound. i live near turbines and experience this constant low frequency sound that can be felt in your chest.
