Ride along in the 2012 Subaru WRX STI as 2011 Rally America National Champions David Higgins and Craig Drew pilot Subaru Rally Team USA #75 through the intensely slippery and icy conditions found at the 2012 Sno*Drift Rally in Atlanta, Michigan. The lack of grip was described as unbelievable and forced the team to take many junctions at just a few miles per hour in order to stay on the road. Despite this, their precise and quick driving set them up with a nearly two minute lead early in the event which they carried until the finish, winning the first event on the 2012 Rally America National Championship series.
The Sno*Drift Rally features nearly 130 miles of snow and ice-covered roads in northern Michigan. Constantly changing weather and road conditions historically make this rally extremely challenging made even more treacherous as Rally America rules prohibit the use of spiked or studded ice tires here placing a premium on road traction.

Great result for Subaru. So glad that SRT USA are back in Rally America this year, especially with Higgins at the wheel again.

do pro rally drivers even need lights? can't they do it with just the notes? that would be so cool if they did it w/out the lights. XD (ok maybe its not safe but still, could be fun though just basing it all from the notes)

I went shopping.
I didi it in my 2008 Subaru Legacy Diesel Wagon.
The road near my home is quiet, twisty and during winter it's covered in snow and ice.
I turned off the traction control and stability aids and used the massive torque of the diesel to power slide my way through several corners.
I am no rally driver, just a guy from Finland that is lucky enough to own a Subaru. And so, you can be sure that the first words out of my mouth after a snowstorm isn't "oh damn", it's "oh yeah!"
