I am a big hip hop fan and listen to Immortal, Krs-one, J5, Rakim, and many many more...Lil wayne lyrically and flow wise is just as good as these guys different yes but I bet if you simply ask any HipHop artist who aint just hatin they will say Weezy can rap period...If he transcends rap cos of his albu fair play and he deserves all the sales he get.....1.5million sold in a week for a hip hop artist dont happen these days..Unless you wayne !!

well if hes that good how comes none of those rappers go to see him in concert? rakim and immortal technique go to see brother ali in concert. you can bet all you want but i havent heard any great rappers say a good word about lil wayne. masta ace done a tune called lil young rippin all the fake rappers with Young or Lil in their names. fuckin carbon copies! its not hating out of spite or jealousy, its hating what he represents. the demise of mainstream hip hop!

his flows weak & what lyrics?

he simply isnt hip hop. thats the thing that irritates me the most. he doesnt represent hip hop culture at all, hes just a pop star that raps.

hip hop is for the people, real fuckin street people that live in urban areas. how the fuck does he represent that at all? how can people living in those areas connect or relate to wayne?

you go around the bronx, brooklyn or harlem, places like that. ask the people on the streets what they think of lil wayne and see what response you get. hes fake!

Yeah but he got rap for days...He is a hip hop artist who has transcended hip hop...Still keeps his flow and lyrics but puts out an album that will offer something to a wide variety of people not just hardcore hip hop heads who all wnt hip hop to go back to Wu-tang-clan shit...

so all undergeound hip hop is like wu tang?

i dont want it to go back, thats why i listen to underground, its progressive! he hasnt transcended hip hop, hes not even a significant figure in hip hop. hes irrelevant!

people always say how many albums hes sold, but no one bothers to look at the type of people that are buying his shit. mostly teenagers that havent been into hip hop long enough to have a proper opinion of who the best rappers are because they arent even aware of whats out there

With the wack shit he puts out, if this were the Golden Era, he'd gotten a LOT worse than a bottle thrown at him..

Rap music today just isn't held to the same artistic standards it used to be, which is WHY it has FALLEN OFF so badly & has lost its way..
