Thanks for sharing this one!
As far as I can hear instruments esp electric instruments back in the "early" day had much more distinction and individuality. A Rhodes, ARP strings, Moog all had very distinctive characters and you could hear this when like this video they are all showcased.
Todays electronics are all derivatives from the 1980s and sound for the most part all alike and are void of warmth!
This is an amazing video and a prize to showcase talent and technology of that era!

@sethtriggs Oh awesome! Thanks man! I love that sound. I wish there was still music like this made today :/.

@sethtriggs I don't think he's using the arp for the bass notes, the arp is on the opposite side of the keyboard he's playing for just the bass. At 3:46 you can see Herbie playing it with his right hand. I'm assuming it's some kind of bass synth, maybe a bass rhodes?

@phadamblab Oh - you meant later in the video! that's his ARP2600 I think.

@phadamblab Looks like Herbie's playing an Arp Odyssey (which he used earlier to make that funky chirping effect during Chameleon.)

That bass-tone keyboard that Herbie Is playing with his right hand when Chick is on the clav and the rhodes; what is that?
