SARAH MCINDOE, CAREER CONSULTANT:

If someone told you half of the questions that were going to be in your next test, you could prepare for it beforehand and the test would be heaps easier, right?

Well, the same goes for interviews. There are common questions employers are likely to ask you -- such as "Tell me about yourself", What are your strengths" or "Why do you want to work here?"

You can practice answering questions with friends and family, and get honest feedback on how you come across.

Jump onto careers.govt.nz for other common questions.
