@GospelAccording2ME I think artists eventually tire of playing the same song a couple thousand times, so they may shake it up a bit in order to keep it fresh, and more importantly keep their interest in the song, to make it a more enjoyable listening experience.

@ranmae57 LOL while your comment is amusing, it's also useless. What is with these people that defend Hall with "souling a song up" in concert. Don't you all understand that he's a natural soul singer...he doens't have to do anything further. What he's doing is trying to make it interesting for himself and the few fans (obviously, you included) that don't know enough about music to realize that the initial recording was perfection. That's why we're discussing and listening 30 years later.

@GospelAccording2ME because he souled it up so every nationality could enjoy it! if u don't like go home and play the record!

Why do artists think we, the fans, want to hear them deviate and alter their biggest hits during live performances? Again I say, this tune is truly one of my favorite songs ever. The original studio recording is, in my opinion, one of the greatest moments in recorded music history! Hall's vocals on that recording are matchless. Why does he continue to deviate from that melody when in concert? (sigh)
im going to a concert there soon! how hard was it to get your camera in? did it beep in the metal detector?

Cameras are allowed as far as I know. My girlfriend carried it in her purse.
