IONA, the band

July 4th Cornerstone Festival 1996 concert hi-lites from Iona, the British Isle Celtic super group...tunage from one of the very best bands of last 15 years.
This was certainly an historic concert...thanks to Iona, JPUSA, C-Stone, YouTube, and our gang of videographers.

These Iona members suffered jet lag, but still put out a herculean effort to please the American crowd with their fabulous music...on Independence Day!

Iona...some of you have a clue, some merely speak of them like a metalhead talks about Metallica. People, you cannot just try to mortalize the sound of this amazingly talented ensemble! I was fortunate enough to be at their very first u.s. appearance which was c-stone 94...they played the true tunes stage-a much more intimate setting. Again, words do not do that experience justice. It was especially significant because the legendary Nick Beggs was there!

This band is insanely talented. The Book of Kells is a work of true genius but all their albums are excellent.

If you like Iona, you might well like Mostly Autumn and Wolfstone, too; try them out!
