I bought it at iTunes. RT @Carma_Chan @GemsGirls if you love this song and the story behind it and want to show support for the children who are overcoming neglect and abuse.

i really love... no words to describe the feeling

What a beautiful thought, "this is to mother you"...so healing and powerful.

Hey Scott, Thanks SO much for reminding me and for remembering. I stopped watching SNL in disgust after that happened for years adn didn't watch it much at all since. That was one of the reasons I got so pissed at Saturday Night Live for ostracizing her and over time I just repressed the memory, as it were. There are so many reasons to rip up a photo of the pope. ohh let me count the ways. and the reason she did it was one of the better ones.
-
She ripped up the photo as a protest against the systematic protection of molesters within the Catholic church's own leadership. She ripped up that photo for a good reason.

The only "bad" publicity I ever heard about Sinead (and granted I don't keep up with celebrity gossip) was that she ripped up a photograph of the pope and that didn't seem like a bad idea to me at the time and it still doesn't to this day. She ripped up a photo on Saturday Night Live (!) (woo woo) and it's way past time for those SNL liberals who were so damn taken aback by it (all that talk about Free Speech flew out the window when it came to Sineads) and everybody else to get over that.

thank you for this!

Sinead got some bad publicity in her past, but she's a warrior for good in this world. I love her voice, her messages, her lovely heart! SINEAD!!! YOU ROCK!!!!!

Love to the sublime Mary & Sinead & Martha
What a freakin' awesome cause, very much in keeping with the dignity of these great artists/activists, and what a great use of an oft-overlooked Sinead O'Connor CLASSIC.
