  • @colblimp I mean... that sounds awkward but yes. I was only in the army for about a quarter year and to be honest; I can´t imagine how it must feel to be years far from your loved ones, every day confronted with death and deprivations. Thats a more interesting point in reenactment than fancy uniforms and posing infront of a camera, dont you think so?

  • @ChrisVonToph Of course we have fun whilst we're re-enacting, or would it suit you better if we walked round miserable as sin?!!

  • @colblimp See, i dont´t know exactly how this works out in the english language itself, but between "re-telling" and "portraying", in german there is a distinction. In my opinion both of these notions won´t make a resonable explanation for reenactment - from my point of view. I would´nt have a problem if you were actually a member of the SS... but to pretend you are - that´s what bothering me. You have fun while you reenact, right? It´s this kind of fun, what I think is so insulting.

  • @ChrisVonToph Grow up! It's not 'playing war', it's re-telling history and is no way a slap in the face of victims and veterans!

I'm English and two of my relatives fought in the Second World War, but I portray a SS soldier of the 6th Mountain Division 'Nord'. There's absolutely nothing wrong with what these guys are doing.

  • I can´t express my disgust... Sure, I´am german and only 25 years old - but even I have a good idea about how wrong in all kind of ways this is. Collecting uniforms and restaurating vehicles is one thing - but to dress like a soldier and play war is slap in the face of both victims and veterans of the 2nd World War. World War is a good point for my next argument... Britain, New Zealand, US of A? Only the Brits may have a damn good idea of what it means to have war in their own country.

  • Im glad im apart of the seccond battlegroup, best hobby of a lifetime i say!

Think i took you around our display myfriend?

    Not sure

  • Very nice Steyer 1500. we have one too

  • Great Video,
