On morning of the 22nd of March 2011, the occupation of the Free Hetherington at Glasgow University was forcibly evicted by campus security and police. By early afternoon, all occupiers had been removed. Students then marched on the main university building and occupied the Senate. By that evening, senior management of the university had capitulated, and agreed for the Hetherington to be re-occupied in exchange for the Senate being returned.
