For all the people wondering if trophies will be protected and carried over to the new psn, if they are or not, it doesn't matter because if you synced with the severs before the outage happened, you hav all your trophy info in your system. IF and when the psn comes back on, you can just sync back up with servers with the trophy info in your system if your trophies aren't there.

@SavageBuddha you dont get discounts on maps , you mostly get 1 month free of psn plus , and music downloads and lastly one year of free identity theft protection apparently so if they provide the protection then why not? with the protection you get 1 million dollar insurance or something

Sony are claiming that this is a simple DNS attack, despite this they have also anounced that they are rebuilding the entire network. If this was a DNS attack they would just have to close the ports under threat, this is something much worse, they may have to wipe all psn storage to fix this, they won't tell you THAT on their statement...
