Being pinned or forced against a wall by a larger, stronger or violent individual can be downright terrifying -- until you learn how to exploit targets, timing and opportunities. Women's self defense expert and Black Belt Hall of Fame recipient, voted BEST WOMEN'S SELF DEFENSE 2008, Dr. Ruthless discusses and teaches:

* Smart and NOT smart strategies for facilitating escape in close encounters
* Why you don't want to struggle against an attacker's strengths
* The importance of not telegraphing and being explosive in the "go off"
* Two versions of the palm strike Every Woman MUST know

Dr. Ruthless sticks to gross motor skills and uncomplicated methods geared for all women.

There's a short ground fighting clip at the end, from TNN's Crook & Chase Show.

  • Interesting how she chauvinistically objectified him as a "creature" who is attacking a "woman". Nice psychological ploy as it is much easier to inflict grievous injuries to a person once they have been dehumanized. Rulers have used the same ploy to justify genocide and mass murder for thousands of years. Personally, I refer to an attacker as "the Victim", because as soon as s/he enters my kill zone with evil intent, that is exactly what s/he becomes. It reverses the predator/prey dynamic.

  • @WFCoW

Dude you REALLY got me wrong. LOL! I use the word CREATRE all the time for men & women, becuase it's part of my primal lingo. When I teach women I refer to, speak to "that creature part of yourself" meaning a deep down female-animal way; need to get below and under the rational and cognitive brain. When I say creature here referring to the attacker..that's just part of my lingo. "I'm a smaller creature than him." It gets down to the animal level in us all. NOT meant to dehumanize.

  • From a fellow self protection instructor, well done. This is great stuff. Really spot-on with the teaching method and technical break-down. 5*

  • Thanks Dude!

  • Some doctors work in a hospital. Dr Ruthless , however, puts other people in the hospital. ;-)

  • Thanks! Now that's a cool comment :-)

  • I like it that you have guys with pads that way we can actually see the real speed and motion like you're hitting through them.

  • Man I love this woman she gives the power of knowledge a whole new level of meaning, and her being relatively small just adds to the overall message. Go Dr. Ruthless and all the people involved in these programs!

  • I'm a guy and I loved this video! Everyone should see these vids

  • I like the fact that your training partners have to wear that many protective gears.

  • @Secretlyastonishing It dosen't matter if he's down or not. He might just be pissed off and look for the next opportunity. It's best not to give him that opportunity. Leave the purse and deal with it later.

  • Even now this video & techniques within hold more water than most of the "Expert Guru" programs out today! I'd take on a rabid bear before I tangled with Dr.Ruthless or her proteges. Great stuff!

  • Wow she is my fucking SD idol. She is so powerful

  • Very well done. The ATTITUDE is the most important factor, and you show it. "0 to 100. Hit the switch."
