@piasillo they don't want us to know the power we posses, they're scared of us and they should be.
-
@piasillo Also not taught that this is where the derogatory slur 'redneck' originated. From these men wearing red bandannas -Kinda 'ironical'.
-
@piasillo this wasnt taught in school because this was a time in u.s. history that the government wanted to forget...for the simple fact the government was in the wrong in my opinion...all the miners wanted was fair treatment and a fair wage for a fair days work...
-
@trouble97018 That is 100% the truth, the company is very aware of the potential damage and loss of life and they simply wont fix it. its an elementary school for gods sake.
-
"oh but that was a long time ago:". trust your government ...they are here to "help us"...the miners of Blair Mt. are Great American heros.
-
And people trust business why?
-
@themanfromwyoming You didn't feel the oppressive government of Bush and Cheney? Where were you?
-
Because thugs like Don Blankenship don't want anyone to know about it.
Check into is Marsh Fork Elementary School. There is a leaking dam that is owned by Massey Energy 400 yards upstream from that school. That dam holds back over 2 BILLION gallons of toxic coal sludge. Massey won't fix the dam.

@WRLOCK2008 yea most Unions are corrupt nowadays

Well said. Something has got to give soon. Miners lost their health care for retirement, our UMWA contracts are getting changed every day for the Companies purposes and the companies (CONSOL) are getting away with safety violations all the time. In the mean time the UMWA backs a socialist who wants to do away with the coal industry. Its going full circle to the way it was before.
Why weren't we taught this school?
